Mackenzie was in a sledding accident on Saturday Jan 27. She was airlifted to Sanford ER in Sioux Falls and then transferred to ICU at the Children's Castle. She has a large laceration to her liver and right kidney. She was moved to a regular room until we found out she had to have a Stent surgery placement on Tuesday Jan 30 (ureteral stent) where she ended up going back to ICU for overnight. She has developed pleural effusion (fluid around lungs) which we are working on getting cleared up. In about a month, she'll have the Stent removed. She is currently at Children's Castle recovering.
